Tuesday mood 🤍 Tuesday mood 🤍
It took me many years to reframe what movement mea It took me many years to reframe what movement meant to me, and what it meant to take care of myself. Ben g able to wake up, and move (no matter how it looks or feels) is such a gift.

No matter what you think of your body, regardless of what “shape” you think you’re in - if you can, move today. Not because you “have to”, but because you CAN! Because you are alive and awake and because it feels pretty damn good 🤍
I think one of the things that stops people from m I think one of the things that stops people from meditating (or really trying anything new) is the fear of getting it wrong. Doing it wrong. Not being good at it.

But the reality is, you can’t get it wrong. Because meditation is simply a practice. That’s it. A practice of returning.

Returning daily to you seat, to your breath and to the present moment.

If you’re curious about getting started on your own practice, here are some simple tips…

- start with a comfortable crossed legged position sitting up on a bolster or pillow. If that doesn’t feel good, find a position that works for you. Comfort is queen.

- begin by connecting with your breath. Taking a few deep full inhales and exhales, just noticing your breath move freely and fluidly in and out.

- notice any thoughts or feelings you may have. Just simply observe them, and then let them go.

- your mind is going to race and wander, that’s what it’s built to do. You’re not doing anything wrong. Each time your mind wanders, simply notice it, and then compassionately guide your mind back to your breath and back to the present moment.

- continue to sit, observing your breath, staying present for as long as you’d like. In the beginning maybe start with just 3-5 minutes. And then build as you go.

- consistency is more important than the length you sit for, so aim for a length of time that’s truly realistic and sustainable for you. Remember the goal is consistency.

- be curious with this practice. Have fun with it. Let it be light and fun. A chance for your to connect deeper with yourself. To learn about yourself. Not be another way to judge yourself.

- as guy close your practice, take a few breaths with your hands together at heart center and feel a deep sense of gratitude for yourself for showing up, doing this work, and loving yourself 🤍. Allow yourself to just feel and receive your own love…taking that feeling with you into your day.

🤍🤍🤍
I think sometimes we look at other people and we t I think sometimes we look at other people and we think that they just wake up happy. Content. At peace. Or that one day, we’ll just wake up happy. That it’s something that happens to us - when life is smooth and easy.

But in reality, it’s a conscious choice we have to make over and over. And requires ACTION. Doing things that MAKE us feel good, that align with how we WANT to feel.

We have to show up as the people we want to be, show up the way we want to feel - and the feelings follow. I promise.

So today, maybe take a moment. Step back. Close your eyes. Ask yourself how you want to FEEL moving throughout your day, and then choose just one small action you can do today that gets you closer to that feeling.

No matter what’s going in the world around us, how we feel is always up to one thing, you 🤍
Had the best few days at the @ojaivalleyinn and wi Had the best few days at the @ojaivalleyinn and will for sure be back. Exactly what we all needed 🤍. Recharged and ready to head “home”.
Going to bed tonight so grateful for this one and Going to bed tonight so grateful for this one and what we’ve built. It’s not always easy (with me…and just with marriage in general) but man am I proud of how far we’ve come.

While our marriage is far from perfect. We’re in a really good place. But it took work. Space for each other to to grow. Patience while we each changed and evolved.

I know not all love stories last (no matter how much work you put in…), so it’s not lost in me how sacred this is. Grateful we’ve had a couple chapters to start over…..and excited for what’s next for us 🤍🤍
Just hit publish on a new blog post. It feels so Just hit publish on a new blog post. It feels so good to be writing again. How I’ve missed it.

Sharing all about how we’re doing in a new “life lately” post. Talking about my sobriety, how I’m managing this change and just where my head is at.

Although this post is about me, and our move - it’s really for anyone experiencing any type of change in their lives. While change can feel so uncomfortable at times, it’s also such a beautiful gift. It allows us to see ourselves and our world in a whole new light.

It allows us to see ourselves more clearly and honestly.

“…If we’re never uncomfortable, or things are never uneasy, we stay the same. And nothing in our world changes.

We need each other to grow and change. It’s how we move forward as a collective….”

So for anyone experiencing change or in a season of growth right now - I’m right there with you - and something even bigger is waiting on the other side.

And as always, thanks for sharing in our world. I always love hearing your thoughts and feelings on these posts. Sharing this with all of you is such a gift.

Life will always have moments of uncertainty. Mom Life will always have moments of uncertainty. Moments that feel stressful or hard. Moments you feel unsure. That’s just part of the human experience. What we signed up for.

And while we can’t control what happens around us. We can control what happens within us.

Where we put our time, our energy, and our attention.

For me, when life feels hard…
I focus more on the small things I can do everyday. Getting my feet in nature.
Breathing.
Meditating.
Going to bed early.
Eating well.
Being good to me.
In the smallest, yet, most impactful ways.

Knowing everything I need to feel good. To feel alive. Is right here within me. And it’s there for you too. You’re life is up to one thing, and thing only. YOU 🤍
