The only person I’d want to navigate this crazy The only person I’d want to navigate this crazy life with 🤍 . J and I have been married for 14 years, but it wasn’t until fairly recently that we began to understand what a true partnership looked like. Doing away with traditional roles and responsibilities and creating something that actually works - for both of us. . Constantly asking each other, “what do you need?” and “how can I help?” . Jumping in wherever needed from projects around our house, to our careers, down to our kids. We share the load - on all the things you see, but especially those you don’t (that mental load us mamas carry around finally feels a little lighter). . Lill took these photos of us last night after dinner and they just made me smile today. I’m just really darn proud of us and how far we’ve come. It may have taken us a while to get here - but I love this partnership we’ve built. . To all my married friends on here - what’s the one thing you love the most about your marriage?? Or what’s the best marriage advice you can share with all of us???
Between the stories all of you shared with me last Between the stories all of you shared with me last week about being sober curious (which I’m still making my way through), to the conversations I’m having with the women in Reset & Restore, to the heartfelt messages you all send me, every day - EVERY story and EVERY message has one thing in common. . We all just want to be loved. To be seen. To know we BELONG. . I think that together, collectively, as a community, we’re all searching. I’m not sure for what exactly. But I think maybe it’s permission. For someone to give us a hug and say “it’s ok”.... . To stop drinking, without needing an explanation To leave the job that’s no longer working To leave the relationships you’ve outgrown. To say I need help To say “no, that actually doesn’t work for me” To say how you REALLY feel or ask for what you actually need. . We’re searching for permission, to show up as US. . And I think maybe we’ve gotten so used to hiding, and covering and being “fine” that we’ve become numb. And lost. And have no idea what we really want or who we really are. . I think a lot about Lillian. And what I want for her. And then I think about me, at her age, at 10. And what I’d say to her now. . And what that 10 year old version of me needed then, is no different than what the 42 year old version of me needs to hear now.... You are loved. You are seen. You belong. Just as you are. . So for all of you here now who need to be reminded of the same. I see you. I love you. And you belong. Here. 🤍 . Stop waiting for permission to live the life you want. You already have it.
Today marks four months sober for me. Which is so Today marks four months sober for me. Which is so surreal, for so many reasons. . I never identified myself as having a “problem” and never in my wildest dreams imagined that I’d be four months “sober”. And yet....here I am. . So much of this is still so new to me and I’m just beginning to tap into the amazing benefits of being fully awake and sober....but it’s opened my eyes to a way of living that I’m not quite ready to give up. . So while I can’t say that I know if I’ll drink a year from now, or even next week. One thing I know for certain.... .I’m not drinking TODAY, and that’s good enough for me 🤍 . Today on the blog I’m sharing my unexpected journey into sobriety, and how maybe we don’t need to wait for the things to be a “problem” to let them go. . I’m hoping by sharing my story it empowers even just one of you to make a change in your own life - whatever that may be. At any point, you can rewrite your story. . My crew jumping for joy this am. Not in their own My crew jumping for joy this am. Not in their own beds at home - but instead in a hotel with JP 💗 . This morning in stories I shared how JP took the kids on a road trip to Florida. Without me. And all the feelings and thoughts about how we got to that decision. . I don’t know if this would have been a decision I could have made even just six months ago. . But realizing that it’s ok to say..... . I’ve changed. . My needs have changed. . This is no longer working for me. These plans we made no longer work. That dynamic we have no longer works. . And then asking for what you need...help, space, time, sleep, whatever. It’s ok to ask for what you need - without guilt. . As women I think it’s sooo important that we normalize allowing our partners to truly HELP. Allowing our roles within the home to change and evolve. And to see other women being AMAZING mothers and NOT trying to do it “ALL”. . There is no prize at the end of the day for sacrificing your life for your kids. They won’t end up better people, or have a better life because you gave up yours (I know that may sound selfish to some, and may hit a nerve .....but it’s true). . Ladies....I say this with so much love.....it’s ok to ask for what you need. It’s ok to change. It’s ok to evolve. It’s not selfish. You are worthy. You are worthy. I’ll say it again for the people in the back....YOU are WORTHY of whatever it is you need ❤️ . Xoxo

I had the best time filming a few videos for our upcoming program, Reset & Restore (which there’s still time to register for). . And let me be clear, the audio was awful, my microphone didn’t work, the camera fell 90 times and I’ll probably have to re-record most of it. But who cares?! 😅🤷‍♀️. I had THE best time, learned so much and am so darn proud. . Today I celebrate!!! . Today I was more than “mom” making pancakes on a Saturday morning. Today I was a woman, on her own, figuring it out. And man, that means everything to me. No messed up audio takes away from the fact that I’m doing it!! . Seriously on such a high. So grateful for this experience, this community for giving me the space to create, and just ALL of it 🤍 . Sending the same love and energy and excitement that I feel, to all of you today too. I was trying to think of what I needed to tell you about myself...and I think it comes down to this. For 42 years I tried so darn hard to make our life “perfect”, to make sure everyone else was “ok”. Make sure everyone was happy. And somewhere along the way, I lost me. . It took me a LONG time to realize that my only job, is not to make our life perfect, but rather to make ME WHOLE. . And trust that from that place of true, complete, wholeness.....the rest would fall into place. . What makes me WHOLE is always chancing and shifting. Today, it looks like quiet time on my mat before my kids wake, it’s walks with JP by the water and getting my feet in sand, it’s belly laughing with my kids, its being in the kitchen, it’s real connections and conversations with all of you. These are the things that give me life. The things that make me WHOLE. . What makes YOU whole? What makes you feel happy, content and at so much peace. What if we all committed to adding more of THAT into our lives 🤍. Just think about how much happier our world would be. . We can’t fix the outside world. But you can work on you. Make YOU whole and happy and good....and I promise......the rest will follow 💗. . So glad you’re here. Welcome. But now I am so deeply committed to my daily practices and have never felt better in my life. I’ve never felt more connected to “me” than I do now. And I want that for all of you. .
